Jeana Goosmann, CEO & Managing Partner of the Goosmann Law Firm, is pleased to announce that Sackett Law Firm, a Northwest Iowa-based firm and former Goosmann Affiliate, has merged with Midwest-based Goosmann Law Firm effective March 1st, 2021. Now recognized as Sackett | A Goosmann Law Firm, located in Spirit Lake and Spencer, Iowa, is the fourth Goosmann office location in addition to Sioux City, Iowa, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Omaha, Nebraska. This merger welcomes a total of seven Sackett team members; three attorneys and four non-attorney staff.
Barry Shaw Sackett, the owner of Sackett Law Firm with a family legacy of over 100 years, is joining Goosmann as Partner alongside partners Joel Carney, Andrew Simpson, and CEO Jeana Goosmann. Since May of 2019, Sackett has served as Corporate Counsel at Goosmann while leading Sackett Law Firm. Sackett’s business focus and 28 years of legal experience stems from time as a business owner, chief financial officer, in-house counsel, and assistant county attorney. His practice areas include business transactions, entity formation, real estate, tax, estate planning, probate, and work as a certified mediator. Sackett is licensed in Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, and California.

In addition to Barry Shaw Sackett, Attorney Lisa M. Steffen has joined the Goosmann team as a Partner leading the Spirit Lake Area. Lisa Steffen is an experienced trust and estate planning, real estate, business, and probate attorney who provides top-notch results for her clients. With ten years of rural general practice experience, Steffen has worked with agricultural businesses, farm families, real estate professionals, bankers, or business leaders helping them navigate the complexities of estate and business planning and real estate transactions. Steffen is licensed in Iowa and Massachusetts.
Attorney Kristine Willrett also joins Goosmann in the Spencer, Iowa office, she is an experienced real estate, commercial transaction, corporate, and estate planning attorney who helps business leaders, real estate purchasers, sellers, and lenders get deals done. Kristine is licensed in Iowa and Minnesota.
Alongside the attorneys, other Sackett team members joining Goosmann Law Firm include, Tax Paralegal Clarice Howard, Probate & Trust Paralegal Linda Storey, Administrator Cory Peterson, and Real Estate/Billing Staff Member Courtney Christensen.
