Aaron C. Bourne is a dedicated and experienced family law attorney, proudly serving clients in our Sioux City office at Goosmann Law Firm. Aaron brings a wealth of knowledge in managing complex family law cases, where his compassionate approach and meticulous attention to detail have consistently provided his clients with the service and care they need.
Throughout his career, Aaron has developed a strong reputation for guiding families through some of life’s most challenging legal issues. His experience includes handling everything from divorce and child custody disputes to probate cases, where he offers clients both the legal acumen and emotional support needed during difficult times.
Aaron earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Creighton University School of Law in 2013, where he excelled in Moot Court Competitions and was actively involved in the Public Interest Law Forum and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. He also holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in History (2009) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History (2006) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he was recognized on both the Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List.

- Handled all juvenile cases, including truancies, juveniles out of control (3B cases), and neglected and abused juveniles (3A cases)
- Primarily responsible for all class IV felonies in District Court
Box Butte County Attorney’s Office, Alliance, Nebraska
County Attorney, 2015-2017
- Was appointed Interim County Attorney on January 26, 2017, by the Box Butte County Board of Commissioners
- Managed all criminal cases from initial charging to resolution of the case
- Negotiated with defense attorneys regarding cases that may end in a plea deal
- Arranged mental health board hearings for individuals who represented an imminent danger to themselves or others and had been placed under Emergency Protective Custody (EPC)
- Managed the County Attorney’s Office, including the Deputy County Attorney and three full-time non-attorney staff members
- Acted as ex officio County Coroner for Box Butte County and, as such, was available 24 hours a day
