Your estate plan should be a fluid document that continues to be updated throughout your life. As your life changes, so should your estate plan. In general, you should update your estate plan every three years.   4. Divorce/marriage: Have you recently gotten married or divorced? This significant life event will need to be updated on your plan to address assets and beneficiaries.

Is your health the same? Do you have new additions or changes to your family? Do you have additional assets you need to protect?
